Happy Birthday!!

We celebrated Mimi's (the kid's great-great gma) birthday this weekend in Clarinda. She turned 92 and is doing well living at home. Aunt Elsie (her sister-in-law, the kids great-great-great aunt) celebrated it with us. She also lives at home by herself in Shennandoah.) I told Aunt Elsie she looks great for 94. (It is so hard to keep track!!) She said I think I am 96! Mimi sitting next to her said "You're not 96, you're 97 and will be 98 in January!! You are 5 years older than I am and that's how I keep track!" Aunt Elsie laughed and said I guess I'm 97!

Great-Gma Hughes

We are always great entertainment for grandma. I think we have touched every nick nack in her house. Our favorite is the little irish man with the green hat made of panty hose that sits in her tv console. We fight over it everytime.

Joseph likes to sit at the front door and watch traffic. He loves the breeze and enjoys watching Moss.

Fresh Coconuts

We took a guided jet ski tour around Bora Bora. It seemed so relaxing when we signed up for it. You can imagine Mike & Tommy racing each other the entire 3 hours. We stopped midway and our guide cut up frest fruit and we swam for a little bit before we headed back.

4 Wheeler Excursion

On the last day of our trip we rented 4 wheelers and took a tour of the many different plantations. This one just happened to be pineapple fields.

Paradise

Beautiful weather allowed us to enjoy many island adventures.

Ryan closed himself in the bathroom and decided to paint his body and face with markers for the Friday night home game. As you can see, St. Albert only is ledgible in the mirror!! Ryan got cleaned up the Tommy and Dan took Ryan to the Game. Go Falcons!!

Every day Ava dresses herself and then comes into the kitchen for breakfast. Sometimes I compromise, sometimes I make her change everything, and on this day we were running a little behind and I said fine. Let's load up. It could be worse.

Ryan keeps begging to give Joseph a flying angel. AAAAHHHH!! I have to keep a close watch on everyone. The kids don't quite understand he is still a baby. Joseph is getting mobile and the kids think he is ready to play a little more with them. They love entertaining him and can't wait for him to start walking. We will keep you posted!!

Rockola

To get the kids to smile sometimes I say "smile and show me your teeth!" I forgot how cheesy they look. Our Jukebox for the basement finally came yesterday. The kids were having fun putting money and making selections. I am sure this will be fun for years to come!!

Summer Fun

It has been so long since I have BLOGGED!! We have had such a fun & crazy summer. Ryan took swim lessons in Omaha and by the end of the class was MOST IMPROVED!! (He needed a lot of help.!!) We have done the children's muesum, zoo, pool and visited parents and grandparents. Our basement is almost completed. They are almost done trimming it out and should be ready to stain and paint by the end of next week. Ryan registers for kindergarten tomorrow and Ladybug opens back up on Monday for Joseph and Ava. School starts for Ryan in the next few weeks. We will be busy with Ryan's soccer and Ava is taking dance. CONGRATS to Colette and Andy on Layla's pregnancy. Ryan will be so excited to stay and play with the puppies. Thanks for everyone's help this summer with the kids!! xoxo Alissa

Growing like a weed. Since this picture last weekend, I have already sprouted my two top front teeth. I am scooting and crawling every direction to keep my family on their toes!!

I know it looks like my mom & I are at the children's muesum with the big yellow sticker on my forehead, but we are really relaxing and enjoying ourselves in 98 degree heat and humidity with our family and friends. Let's make this an annual party and maybe next year when Joseph and I are walking we can get lost in the cornfield!!
